ABSTRACT
Damage to individual peripheral nerve trunks, known as focal neuropathies or
mononeuropathies, are common in diabetic patients. Some of these neuropathies
are thought to arise from direct compression, or entrapment, of nerves at specific
sites in the limb that are vulnerable. Entrapment neuropathies are an important
cause of disability in patients.
