ABSTRACT
A blepharoplasty can be performed for both functional and aesthetic reasons. A functional blepharoplasty aims to restore normal function and appearance to an eyelid that has been altered by trauma, infection, inflammation, degeneration, neoplasia, or by a developmental anomaly. A cosmetic blepharoplasty aims to improve the appearance of eyelid tissues that are histologically and functionally normal.
