ABSTRACT

Polydactylous longitudinal erythronychia of the fi ngers shows single splinter hemorrhages. In one patient, they were replaced 2 years later by longitudinal erythronychia with some streaks running the whole length of the nail and fi nishing on a distal subungual keratosis with a tendency to fi ssuring at the free edge (Fig. 21.2). Pressure either on the pulp in a pianist, or on the dorsum of the nail plate red streaks produced pain in two patients.
