ABSTRACT
OXYGEN DELIVERY Oxygen delivery to cells is vital for cell metabolic activity and constitutes the principle function of the cardiopulmonary organ system. Before discussing the cardiovascular component of oxygen delivery, a description of oxygen concentrations at the arteriolar, capillary, and cellular level as well as oxygen affi nity for hemoglobin will be presented.
