ABSTRACT

The variety of components already introduced in the foregoing sections as typical examples are dealt with here in greater detail. The section also includes articles on aspects of construction that are frequently

encountered in modern construction and involve more complex construction detail than traditional work – building brickwork on metal support systems as cladding for framed structures, reinforcement in

masonry structures. The incorporation of movement joints into brickwork is also detailed; this is an aspect of modern work that is frequently misunderstood and incorrectly assembled.
