ABSTRACT
Every artist dips his brush in his own soul, and paints his own nature into his pictures.
—Henry Ward Beecher
With so many fabulous brush variants already supplied in Painter, why create more? It is true that
you can get good results using just the default brushes in Painter without any modification. To help
you cope with the vast preponderance of brushes, I have included in this chapter a review of some
of my favorite brushes, grouped by look and feel. If you are new to Painter and are already feeling a
little overwhelmed by the scope and depth of the program, I suggest you skip this chapter and come
back to it at a later time, after you’ve become more familiar and more comfortable with the brushes.
If you’re eager to dig deep and stretch your creativity, then read on.
