ABSTRACT

Initially the term “television graphics” encompassed all text (information and credits) and all stills used to complete, enhance, or help explain the movingimage content of a television program. However, the development of digital techniques and the introduction of IT-based production tools enlarged considerably that initial definition, and “graphics” today encompasses all the previous items as well as all sorts of animation, compositing, virtual elements (such as sets), or advertisements), and, who knows, perhaps one day also virtual actors and presenters.
