ABSTRACT
A multiplication factor used to calculate the scanning resolution for optimum output quality. The quality or halftoning factor is used in the printing industry for determining the optimum result when digital images are printed using line screens. The resolution of a digital image is defined in 'pixels per inch' (ppi), whilst halftone printers conventionally use 'lines per inch' (lpi).
