There are two factors that will decide the type of preparation required prior to the application of decoration
If surfaces are in good condition and have been previously painted, the only action that will be required prior to decoration will be to wash down, make good and apply a fresh paint system.
If surfaces have started to show signs of film breakdown, it will be necessary to completely strip the surface. Once stripped surfaces will require a three coat paint system, but for best quality work specify a four coat paint system.
