ABSTRACT

Business excellence is symbolized by a number of models based on the premise that excellent results with respect to Performance, Customers, People and Society are achieved through Leadership driving Policy and Strategy that is delivered through People, Partnerships and Resources, and Processes. In Europe excellence is promoted by the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) through the EFQM Excellence Model. In the USA excellence is promoted by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) through the Baldrige National Quality Program (BNQP). Around the world, several Quality Awards are being presented for excellence using the same or similar models.
