Electronic circuit construction and testing

Hazards can exist within many circuits-even those that, on the face

of it, may appear to be totally safe. Inadvertent misconnection of a

supply, incorrect earthing, reverse connection of a large-value

electrolytic capacitor and incorrect component substitution can all

result in serious hazards to personal safety as a consequence of fire,

explosion or the generation of toxic fumes.
