ABSTRACT
Contrast and mood is also known as chiaroscuro: the pictorial representation in terms of light and shade without regard to color; the arrangement or treatment of light and dark in a work of art. That’s great, but what does it mean to a storyboard artist? The term itself doesn’t say much, since most clients will have no idea what it means. The concept, though, means a lot when it’s used properly.
