ABSTRACT
Amblin Imaging had to render the ship with a transparent background to place it on top of the live-action element and the background plate. One thing we had to watch for in shooting was to avoid having Neptune’s hand cross in front of the ship. If his fingers crossed in front of the ship while the rest of Neptune was behind the ship, the fingers would have needed to have been rotoscoped, and the budget didn’t allow for that.
