ABSTRACT
Since this book was first published, in 1999, there have been major developments in the debate about ethical issues in tourism and their relationship with tourist behaviour. In this chapter we revisit the concept of the ‘green tourist’, which was a major topic of debate in the 1990s, particularly among academics. We then go on to look at other developments that have taken place in the field of ethical tourism in the past few years.
