ABSTRACT

The Critical Path is that sequence of interdependent activities which together determine the duration of the project. Activities on the Critical Path do not have any time between completing one activity and starting the next. Identifying that Critical Path determines the length of the project, and each activity on it must be completed in the allocated period of time otherwise the whole project will overrun. Activities which are not on the critical path can over-run within a period of time, called the ‘float’, which does not affect any critical activity.
