ABSTRACT

Combustion has the ability to work with audio and video in a manner much like

a non-linear editing application; however, it should be understood that the

tools in combustion are designed for different purposes than the likes of

long-form editors such as Avid, Premiere or Pro-Tools. First and foremost,

combustion is an effects tool for motion graphics and the like. If you want to

cut a feature film or remix the next number one hit album, you should not look

to do it in combustion. You could, but you probably don’t want to. You can do

a lot with a hammer, but you would not use one to drive in a woodscrew. It is

really about picking the right tool for the right job.
