ABSTRACT
Synopsis Compositing is the process of layering images or movies together to create a new image or movie. There are several methods of compositing images together. In this chapter we’ll explore many ways of combining images including the use of masks, blending modes, layer switches, and keying effects. We’ll start by looking at channels which are fundamental in all types of compositing work; understanding how channels work will greatly enhance not only your After Effects skills but also your general understanding of how to successfully manipulate digital images.
