The networking process that unfolds before getting a job interview provides the foundation for a solid career. Networking style varies among people. Those strategies used by highly successful people in any given industry are worth analyzing for obvious reasons. Catherine Hardwicke, director (Lords of Dogtown, Thirteen) and production designer (Laurel Canyon, Vanilla Sky, Three Kings, Two Days in the Valley, Tank Girl), recalls her early years working on films like Thrashin’ (1986), Mr. Destiny (1990), and Tombstone (1993), and provides insight as a designer, screenwriter, and director.
