ABSTRACT

Having completed the activities in Session A, you should by now have a clear picture of the personal and professional developmental issues you face as a manager. Depending on what you have come up with, it’s possible that you may feel a bit disheartened. If, for example, there are several issues that you realize need addressing urgently, or perhaps just one that seems to loom rather large and urgent. This is a natural reaction we all experience when we’re facing up to those areas where we fall short of our ideal! How can I convert those weaknesses into strengths? How will I cope with that threat? However, it may also have encouraged you to be reminded of exactly how much you do know, and where your strengths and expertise lie. You may also have been pleasantly surprised by some of your colleagues’ comments.
