ABSTRACT
Innovation – and creativity – are key elements of quality improvement and the search for excellence. People tend to assume that creativity is something that only a few people are capable of and so innovation is something only a few organizations can achieve. While it is true that some people do seem to be naturally more creative and that some organizations are consistently innovative in what they do, do not think that this means that most people and organizations just have to follow along behind, copying what the leaders do.
