ABSTRACT
In Chapter 1 you saw that James MacGregor Burns said that ‘divorced from ethics, leadership is reduced to management’. Although the idea that management is an ethics-free zone is not one that any competent manager would support, nevertheless, it emphasizes that ethical considerations play a significant part in effective leadership. This chapter will explore why that is and just what it means in developing yourself as a leader.
