ABSTRACT

Trench excavating equipment This is a hydraulically controlled dipper arm and bucket which is mounted on a strong rectangular frame on the rear of the machine and can be traversed across this frame for ease of lining up the trenching arm with a line of excavation. The frame also carries jacks for levelling and stabilizing the machine whilst excavating. Maximum excavation depth will depend upon the size of machine and is usually at least 3.5 m. Larger machines can excavate to 5.0 m depth. Rotation of the arm is limited to about 180°.
