ABSTRACT
Clear and uniform signing is an essential part of highway and traffic engineering. Road users depend upon this for information and guidance and highway authorities use signing to ensure efficient traffic control together with the enforcement of traffic regulations. Although ‘signing’ is usually thought of as signs on posts, it also covers carriageway markings, beacons, studs, bollards, traffic signals and other devices.
