ABSTRACT
SONAR has a fantastic level of automatable parameters ranging from the basic
mix parameters (Volume, Pan and Send controls) to specific effect controls and
soft synths. The actual Automation data is represented by visible Envelopes
(although they can be hidden), which may be edited to a high degree, copied to
other Tracks and even reassigned to different parameters. They can also be used
on Buses enabling a further depth of control over your mixes. Both audio and
MIDI parameters can be Automated which means that you can use Automation
for soft synth Input and Output Tracks as well, an example of this would be to
Automate the Volume of a MIDI Input Track to a soft synth so that you didn’t
affect the Volume of any other Tracks using the same synth which would occur if
you Automated the audio Output Track of the synth.
