ABSTRACT

If you were looking for the simplest and shortest statement of the thesis presented in this book it would have to be that even if HR strategy cannot make up for a poor business strategy, it will add enormous value when it is done properly. However, it can only be done properly by effective HR strategists, and these are in short supply. When more HR strategists come onto the scene we will see some serious efforts being put into developing high value HR strategies. So let us look at a few factors that will decide whether HR strategy has a bright and illustrious future or whether it will fall into the same bottomless pit occupied by legions of other management fads.
