ABSTRACT
The underlying structural pattern of a network is the most tangible of a network's properties: It is the aspect of the network that you can draw or visualize. You can examine how the parts relate to the whole and how the structure of the network reflects and supports its purpose. This chapter introduces the structural patterns of networks and two key elements that keep a network's structure together: governance and texture.
