ABSTRACT

Post-production can be the least understood aspect of the producer’s domain. This is where the footage and audio are joined together to create a flowing coherent piece.

Before starting post-production, you want to know who to hire and you want to learn the shortcuts necessary to make post-production more creative and efficient in both the editing and the audio mix. The producer’s job is to know as much as possible about everyone else’s job — what they do, their working style, the tools of their trade, their fees, and the nuances of their art. You want to find the most talented and highly qualified people who can work within the limits of your budget. The more prepared you are when you begin post-production, the faster the process will go.
