ABSTRACT

After all the stages of post-production have been completed, your next step is to wrap the project and tie up all the loose ends. There are dozens of details to clear up. Some can be fun, many are tedious, but they all add up to a list of finalized elements that help your project succeed as well as mark you as a producer who gets things done. These steps can include any or all of the following:

• Final budget and billings: When all the final bills have come in, you want to review each one for accuracy. Clients can make mistakes, and when they do, it’s usually in their favor. Check your bills against your purchase orders and budget, and compare your original estimated budget with what you have actually spent on the project. As discussed in Chapter 4, the estimates can be different from the actuals.
