ABSTRACT
Introduction The bulk of BS 7671 relates to typical, single and three phase, installations. There are, however, some locations within an installation that require special consideration. Such locations may present the user/occupant with an increased risk of death or injuries from electric shock. BS 7671 categorises these special locations in Part 6 and they
comprise installations in the following:
Section 601 Bathrooms, shower rooms etc. Section 602 Swimming pools, indoor and outdoor Section 603 Electrically heated saunas Section 604 Construction sites Section 605 Agricultural/horticultural locations Section 606 Restrictive conductive locations Section 607 Installations with high protective conductor
currents Section 608 Caravans and caravan sites Highway power supplies and street
Let us now briefly investigate the main requirements for each of these special locations.
