ABSTRACT

The electronic colour camera is one of two important signal sources for the creation of television signals. The other is the telecine (see Chapter 4.8). The process of replacing the classic 35 mm film camera by a High-Definition (HDTV) electronic camera still seems very distant in spite of the increasing use of HD cameras. The range of professional electronic cameras can be split into the following categories:

Studio.

Electronic Cinematography (EC).

Electronic Field Production (EFP).

Electronic News Gathering (ENG).

Industrial and other uses.
