ABSTRACT

Only an accountant or a line producer knows budgets well enough to attach human emotions like love and hate to them. They love the feelings of organization and con-“dence that come with having all your ducks in a row. Yet they hate the fact that no matter how good everything looks on paper, the “rst little hiccup can toss their budget right out the window unless moneys are factored in to cover the expected unexpected. Knowing all this, these same people will expect you to create a budget before postproduction has started and then expect you to stick to it.
