ABSTRACT
Probing questions. These allow candidates to develop their initial answers. You use them to follow up the answer to one question with another open question. This can be a supplementary question or the first question put in a different way. They are particularly useful to find out what lies behind an answer. For example: ‘Why did you feel that hadn’t gone as well as expected?’
