ABSTRACT
If the art of management is achieving results through the efforts of others, then a central skill of management must be delegation – the process of passing responsibility for carrying out a task from a manager to a member of staff. The core of this is the transfer of responsibility, much more so than the direction along the hierarchy that the delegated task takes.
