ABSTRACT
A health surveillance programme involves screening to detect early signs of hearing loss and introducing procedures to ensure that, where signs of hearing loss are found, appropriate action is taken. Employees who will be affected by the introduction of an audiometric health surveillance programme should be made aware of the implications of the programme, in particular its aims and objectives and the methods and procedures to be followed, including how results will be kept confidential and when and how employees will be referred on for medical advice.
