However, there are many situations where more authoritative behaviour is required. This may be because the team has not yet reached a stage where they can manage themselves. Or it may be that the nature of their work is time critical and requires an authoritative leader to take control; for example, in a busy restaurant kitchen where the team looks to the chef to tell them what to do and when to do it.
