Where a formal briefing system isn’t in place, you may be able to find ‘opportunist’ occasions to talk to your team as a group. This could be at the beginning of a shift, at the end of the working week, during maintenance breaks or when the computer system has crashed. However you do it – and one of the reasons you were appointed will have been your ability to use initiative – talking to your team together will help get them all working together.
