When giving information to trainees about legislation, codes of practice and good practice guides it is essential to ensure that your information is accurate and up to date. For example, an induction course would need to include information on health and safety, together with the legislation that governs it. This means that you will have to be familiar with such legislation as:

Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 (HSWA); Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 (MHSWR); Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 (WHSWR); Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 1994 (COSHH); Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992 (MHOR).
