a pad of A4 lined paper – use this for drafting out your ideas.
Some people are very keen on using index cards for collecting and organizing ideas and facts. Being postcard-sized, these are handy to use, and they can be shuffled into a different order as your ideas develop. If you use index cards, you will probably want to have a special card box to keep them in.
