ABSTRACT
244The major aims of this study have been to identify characteristics of sport policies in Canada, England, Germany and Norway and to see how sport policies are affected by general attributes of the domestic political systems and transnational influences. Comparative studies of sport policies tend to focus on the evaluation of policy outputs. In this study we have analysed not only the outputs but also the interactions between policy actors that generate the policy inputs and the processes that produce the policy outputs.
