ABSTRACT

So far we have explored a model to help the strategist think of the various factors in the business environment, we have seen how the task of formulating strategy is assisted through the setting of assumptions, and we have looked at some of the approaches to forecasting. What we now need to do is to explore ways to help determine what the critical environmental issues are for a particular organisation, and some ways of dealing with uncertainty. En route to these issues we should also give some thought to the setting up of a strategic information unit within the organisation.
