ABSTRACT

This chapter will enable you to control lighting for photography on location and in thestudio. The lighting considered includes daylight, studio lighting and flash, as primarylight sources, in combination with each other and with ambient light. Proficiency in lighting requires an understanding of the ways different light sources

illuminate subjects, reveal information about them and influence the meaning of the final image.

Once these are understood you can achieve any desired effect either by manipulating available

light or by setting up appropriate lighting on location or in the studio. Furthermore you will be
