ABSTRACT

The earth we live on is looking more and more like a cracked egg all the time, and the rhyme from our childhood about Humpty Dumpty can express very well our despair about putting it back together. All the king’s horses and all the king’s men—all the well-meaning scientists, politicians, public servants, and business people, and especially our vast military power—have made very little progress in putting our Humpty Dumpty world back together again. But within the rhyme itself is an interesting clue pointing us to a possible solution. All the king’s horses and all the king’s men were unsuccessful, but did anyone think to consult the queen?
