ABSTRACT
This chapter explores various types of international alliances, including the equity joint venture. An international alliance could be said to exist when:
Two or more parties contribute tangible and/or intangible assets towards the mutual conduct of business activities.
An organization of some type is created between the parties (equity or non-equity).
At least one of the parties is foreign to the targeted market(s).
