ABSTRACT

As we enter the 21st century, more and more companies will have to choose whether they are willing (or able) to continue doing business only in their domestic markets, or whether they will be required to move in a significant way into the international marketplace. Most companies will have to increase their presence in foreign markets. The manner of entering these markets will be as varied as the companies involved. They will run the gamut of sourcing from international markets for sale in the home market to the establishing of complete manufacturing subsidiaries abroad. The business decision to go international is not an easy one, but one thing is clear, this decision should be based on facts and knowledge as opposed to fear and hesitation.
