ABSTRACT

The stereotype of the IT person is not the only one you have to deal with. Just as important is the stereotype of the IT project. We all know that IT projects are always late and over budget, and never deliver what they promised. We all know as well that it is not our fault. So why do IT projects keep reinforcing this stereotype. Why can't people in the business learn not to impose upon us unrealistic demands and expectations which condemn IT projects to failure even before they have started? Are they doing it just to get at us?
