ABSTRACT

The objective of this chapter is to examine selected concepts, principles, and techniques from the domain of strategic management and to consider their implications for entrepreneurship. More specifically, the chapter will develop understanding of the:

evolving nature of strategic management theory;

implications of an entrepreneurial approach to strategic management;

organizational structure and culture issues;

impact of the market and general environment forces on strategy formulation;

entrepreneurial strategies effective within the hospitality, tourism and leisure industries.
