ABSTRACT
Maintenance is the action of retaining something in a serviceable or proper condition. There are several types of maintenance:
Corrective maintenance – maintenance taken in response to a failure. Preventive maintenance – maintenance taken to prevent failure. Predictive maintenance – maintenance taken in response to signals from sensors that
indicate degradation. Planned maintenance – maintenance carried out with forethought as to what is to be
checked, adjusted, replaced, etc. Planned maintenance includes preventive and predictive maintenance.
