ABSTRACT
The effectiveness of a system is the extent to which a system fulfils its purpose. As the purpose of the quality management system is to enable the organization to achieve
its mission, goals and objectives, continually improving the effectiveness of the management system means continually increasing the ability of the organization to fulfil its mission, goals and objectives. (See also system effectiveness.)

Clause 4.1 of ISO 9001 requires the organization to improve the effectiveness of the quality management system continually.
