ABSTRACT

Water moves in various ways – even a pond that has no perceived outlet or inlet has movement, caused by rainfall and wind, overflowing at some low point around the edge. Rivers and streams in the landscape have their own natural movement and although there is, at times, a need for changes to be made for various purposes, it is better to leave well alone if at all possible. If not then the work should be executed with sensitivity to nature and the local character.
