ABSTRACT
Twenty years ago, networking to gain access to employment opportunities was a little known concept. This has changed, however, as widespread elimination of jobs has become a fact of life. Employees changing jobs within a company still fill the vast majority of open positions. But networking is quickly rising as a means of gaining employment, and most experts feel it will continue to grow in importance.
